Can this “Brain Hack” be used for inner growth?

Watch  Bobby McFerrin demonstrates neural programming at the World Science Festival 2009 ( you may recognize Bobby McFerrin from his Infamous 1988  Song “Don’t Worry Be Happy“)

No doubt Bobby is Absolutely Brilliant…
but can this “Brain Hack” be used to speed up personal/inner growth?

What Is Life All About?

George Bernard Shaw - Playwright, critic, political activist, Born 26 July 1856(1856-07-26) Dublin, Ireland Died 2 November 1950 (aged 94) Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom

Hear it from George Bernard Shaw:

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

Many people spend most of their lives asking  the questions ‘who am I?’ … ‘why am I here?’

What if you could find yourself by creating yourself?

Do you see a better way to discover the true you?

Can Machines Outsmart Man?

can this ever happen?

can this ever happen?

JOHN MARKOFF of The New York Times wrote an article “Scientists Worry Machines May Outsmart Man
“Their concern is that further advances could create profound social disruptions and even have dangerous consequences.

As examples, the scientists pointed to a number of technologies as diverse as experimental medical systems that interact with patients to simulate empathy, and computer worms and viruses that defy extermination and could thus be said to have reached a “cockroach” stage of machine intelligence.”NYT
hot of the press...old fashioned newsprint :)

Are you worried?

Do you believe that a computer has a chance to out smart us?

Do you believe that it is dangerous?

Should we regulate Artificial Intelligence research like we do Stem Cell research?

We would love to hear your opinion!

Your opinion counts, please share it – JUST POST COMMENT BELOW…

Philip Rosedale,Virtual World Creator and Erik Valdman at IdeaCity 2009

(Philip Rosedale founded San Francisco-based Linden Lab in 1999 and has led the creation of the virtual world of Second Life from initial concept to a market-leading virtual world, with a robust economy and a global population. As a pioneer in the virtual world industry, he is actively involved in the strategy, development and design of Linden Lab’s products, including the world of Second Life and the Second Life Grid platform. )

What a surprise…Thursday June 18th 2009 I got to present at IdeaCity! (sharing the stage with great visionaries such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Ali Velshi/CNN, Pete Worden/ NASA, Preston Manning, Pascal Lee, NASA Haughton-Mars Project Lead, Josef Penninger, Prominent Genetics Investigator and 45 other scientists, explorers, artists and activists) I really got ” lucky” when  Randi Zuckerberg, Director of Market Development, Facebook got stuck at the airport in New York City, and could not make it to present that evening…as I saw Moses Znaimer’s index finger pointing at me, from behind the stage curtains (I was sitting at the third row) I had 3 minute notice and I was on stage…

ideaCity, also known as ‘Canada’s Premiere Meeting of the Minds’, is an eclectic gathering of artists, adventurers, authors, cosmologists, doctors, designers, entertainers, filmmakers, inventors, magicians, musicians, scientists and technologists.

Fifty of the planet’s brightest minds converge on Toronto each June to speak to a highly engaged audience. Only 497 are privileged to attend.

Produced and presented by Moses Znaimer, ideaCity is not themed around any one topic, issue or business. There are no scripted speeches or, breakout or parallel sessions. Rather, everyone is in one place and in on the same narrative.

Walk-n-Roll : Variety Village

Can you imagine…this was last summer!!

On Sunday, September 20, I will be taking part in the second annual Variety Village Walk-n-Roll Fundraiser. Funds raised will go towards providing opportunities for kids to hope, learn, dream and grow through adapted programs and services offered at Variety Village.

Variety Village is the only integrated sport training, fitness and life skills facility for people of all abilities in North America. At Variety Village, children of all abilities are encouraged to achieve their goals through inclusive and adapted programs and activities. Our work goes beyond wheelchair basketball and swimming lessons; the Village inspires children to reach for new heights and teaches them that strength of spirit is the key to success.

We did great last year! We will be running another fundraiser this year!

You will be able to follow our progress here!
