Jill Bolte Taylor: My stroke of insight

Erik Valdman

This morning I have received an e-mail with a link to an incredible talk by Jill Bolte Taylor: “My stroke of insight” on TED!

How timely…as just last night I was presenting the Right side (giving energy) and the Left side (receiving energy) Energy in my Karma Secrets Course (King Solomon Magic, level two).

Jill Bolte Taylor through her illness has discovered the connection between our individualism and our unity…between our Uniqueness and Individuality which is never lost within Unity…

Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened — as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding — she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.” TED

Please take 18 minutes and watch this moving talk from Harvard-trained brain scientist…Your feedback is welcome…

  1. I read “My Stroke of Insight” in one sitting - I couldn’t put it down. I laughed. I cried. It was a fantastic book (I heard it’s a NYTimes Bestseller and I can see why!), but I also think it will be the start of a new, transformative Movement! No one wants to have a stroke as Jill Bolte Taylor did, but her experience can teach us all how to live better lives. Her TED.com speech was one of the most incredibly moving, stimulating, wonderful videos I’ve ever seen. Her Oprah Soul Series interviews were fascinating. They should make a movie of her life so everyone sees it. This is the Real Deal and gives me hope for humanity.

  2. I’m so thankful for having the opportunity to listen to Jill’s talk on Karmic Scecets website. I can also relate to having a brother with scetophina, because I also have my only brother that has been challenged with this illness for the past 25 years. The right and letf brain is trully remarkable, and I soaked up her explaination of this as a scientist and a person. To hear her whole experience of a stroke was “truly” enlightening. Our unity as a whole is remarkablely getting stronger and stronger, and I’m so grateful for this. God Bless the Universe!
